I figured out how to load a youtube video into my scene. And even resized it. Now however, when you click to go to another scene, the sound keeps playing. If you go back to that page, the video is not playing, yet, the sound is, and you can play it again, and now you have two video sounds going. Is there a way to make the sound stop? Alternatively, I just uploaded the video, from the flv file, but it takes way to long to upload and continues to buffer for a while. Any help??

Hi!
I have a similar problem:
using the destroy function works just fine EXCEPT one case: when I click another video just before the youtube clip stats playing. The old video keeps playing sound and the only way to turn it off is by closing the browser or changing site... Is there a way to RESET the container?
Thanks

Hi thank you!
Here is the swf file (swish max 3).
Please notice that when you open the swf file through swish there is almost no problem at all! then, look for the same file on the net (click here) and you will see the 2 problems:
1 - moving from page 1 to 2 the thumbs rimane the same (although playing the right video)
2 - clicking FAST on one thumb and then on the other, back to the first and so on, the destroy() seems not to work and one video's sound keeps playing...

thanks!!!

Destroy() will kill the movie clip container, but if streaming it is if'y at best.
Let's get back to the basics - any rime you want something to srop you tell it to do so. This is the same case here. I like to use functions(). You can do alot with a conpact and neat script, this way.

Example:

Code:
function kill () {
    container.destroy();
    container.stop();
}
Now on your buttons:

Code:
on (release) {
    kill();
    gotoAndPlay("where ever you have the url to load movie");
}

The problem I seem to still have is when I go forward or backward using the 'browser' navigation, the youtube video sound still plays. Keep in mind that I am deep-linking my pages so that they can be indexed within the site.

Example: www.website.com/#/video_page/youtube_video/ would be the video

Stopping sound using the navigation in the swf work fine using this function:

onSelfEvent (load){
function pulisci() {
_root.c.movieWindow.destroy();
_root.c.movieWindow.stop();
}

Again, it works fine on the 'Sub Navigation' level within the site, but using the 'True Browser' navigation in Firefox, Safari, IE doesn't work.

Here is a section in my deep-linking code:

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
_global.SWFAddress = new SWFAddress();
SWFAddress.toString = function() {
return '[class SWFAddress]';
};
SWFAddress.back = function() {
if (this._availability)
flash.external.ExternalInterface.call('SWFAddress. back');
};
SWFAddress.forward = function() {
if (this._availability)
flash.external.ExternalInterface.call('SWFAddress. forward');
};
SWFAddress.go = function(delta) {
if (this._availability)
flash.external.ExternalInterface.call('SWFAddress. go', delta);
};
SWFAddress.href = function(url, target) {
if (this._availability) {
flash.external.ExternalInterface.call('SWFAddress. href', url, target);
} else {
getURL(url, target);
}
};
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I have tried embedding the kill function mentioned earlier in this loop. Didn't work. It allows indexing in the URL but it seems as though you never really lose focus in the site to kill sound at the highest level when using your browser.

Hope I'm making sense so far...

I though that if there was a php or javascript function that would kill all sound when the URL changes... i dunno...

Hope this sparks a solution! Any help is greatly appreciated.
