1 sprite..just an empty sprite...script loads in the slideshow swf
1 slideshow swf..the engine
1xml file has all your options..fade speed..timer..random..sequential etc etc
edit to your pics names and off you joll well go

adapted flash file.

step1. make a folder named images
step2. put your images in(make them all the same size or it looks weird)
step3.copy/paste the sprite into your movie..position it where you want the top left of the image to be
(the slideshowholder.swi...the holder sprite)
step4. right click the xml file...choose what options you want
edit the names to show your pics
step5. have the image folder..the slideshow.swf..your movies swf and html all at the same place.

done

the xml file has the options to random loop..sequential..loop or not...how long for the timer...how fast the fade speed etc etc..enjoy

'timer' :: number of seconds between each image transition
'order' :: how you want your images displayed. choose either 'sequential' or 'random'
'looping' :: if the slide show is in sequential mode, this stops the show at the last image (use 'yes' for looping, 'no' for not)
'fadeTime' :: velocity of image crossfade. Increment for faster fades, decrement for slower. Approximately equal to seconds.
'xpos' :: _x position of all loaded clips (0 is default)
'ypos' :: _y position of all loaded clips (0 is default)

It's made to be a standalone..1-off thing.
the ready-made swf has all the pointers to the paths built-in..not editable.

would take a fair amount of reworking/re-pathing etc and designated folders.

Hi Mobosof,

I know you said that it would be a little difficult to set up a second images gallery, but was wondering if it is possible to use the same image source but place the holder in three or four times, with each holder starting on a different image from the list (ie. so that the four holders do not all show the same picture at the same time)? This just ensure that all four holders do not show the same picture at the same time.

Hope it is possible because the movie you have done is fantastic.

Cheers....Stu

Great File mobosoft, and thanks for submitting, just a quick question, when I preview the file on localhost, it goes through the motions of the slideshow, but when I load the same structure to the server, it only loads the first image. I have CHMODed my images.xml and images file to 777 thinking it was because of permissons, but still, no luck. Any clues?

All you need to do is get Will's Zip file at the top of the post and start revising the code in the SWI and XML to make the modifications you want.
If you get hung up just upload what you have for help.
