Hi egomonkey

Welcome!

If you want to pass variables through Swish, I'm sorry to say but that isn't possible.

Swish doesn't support variables, can't send things to databases, tables, ...

Sorry if this isn't what you are looking for.

i've been working on kind of the same thing- but without the online aspect.
{* deleted nonsensical statement *}

I've got the maths to work right now- anyone have a quick fix on how to send a javascript variable into a database ?

http://www.theproduct.w3.to/games/flashtes.../highscore.html (http://www.theproduct.w3.to/games/flashtest/highscore.html)

It works, but it only wants to work in Mozilla. For some reason, Javscript stuff that I tell flash to do won't work in my copy of IE.

SWI file is located at http://www.theproduct.w3.to/games/flashtes...t/highscore.swi (http://www.theproduct.w3.to/games/flashtest/highscore.swi)

Just had a couple of other people test it, 1 person couldnt get it to work :

BROWSER: Microsoft Internet Explorer
BROWSERVERSION: 4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)
CODE: Mozilla
PLATFORM: Win32

and the other could :

BROWSER: Microsoft Internet Explorer
BROWSERVERSION: 4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 98)
CODE: Mozilla
PLATFORM: Win32

http://www.w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?file..._browserdetails (http://www.w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?filename=tryjs_browserdetails)
^^ thats the link i used for the testers to check their browser info.

Any ideas why it would work in an earlier version of IE ?

Why does signpost have 3 posts to this thread and yet no postcount?

Hmm...I think it is because this forum is set so your post count doesn't increase(a way of getting rid of spammers)...Well, My post count is 1665(just looked) and I will post in this thread, then do an edit and tell you what I get whenever I post it..

Edit: Yuhp, it stayed at 1665..I think this is about the same type as flashkit..There, in the lounge you don't get a post count, only in the help areas, as to say you are only helping, not just spamming or posting in the lounge alot, so I think that is the method here...Of course, I am in no way sure of this, BA will have to clear it up for sure.

notice how people seem to be missing the point- I've got the highscore thing working, but need to figure out how to get it to work in all versions of IE, and not just the older versions.
